The Modern Sting takes Ben Aipa’s iconic STING design—one that’s been evolving to execute in every era of surfing for half a century—and brings it into today with a transformed aesthetic and performance-tuned outline. Wide up front for speed, aggressively pulled in behind the Sting wing for fast release and tight control, combined with today’s rocker, rails, and bottom contours—this shape changed the face of surfing once, and it's still pushing boundaries today.

From single fin flow to playful twin or twin plus trailer, to quad speed/liveliness and dominating thruster carves... you can run it how you want: single, twin, twin + trailer, quad, or thruster. It’s that versatile—and we’re stoked to share with you each sensation these setups can offer.

Tested in 2024 by Dave Rastovich in Stab’s Electric Acid Surfboard Test and selected as one of the top three boards of the year, the Modern Sting is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago—now with decades of progression under the hood.
