Flared Pin Twin

Originally designed by Ben Aipa in 1976, the Flared Pin Twin returns with a modern twist but its soul remains untouched. This is a shape built for power and precision, anchored by Ben’s signature Pro-Am bottom a deep double concave that forms a high spine through the center. That spine acts almost like a built-in rudder, helping tame the looseness of the twin-fin setup. Same idea surfers chase today with a stubby trailer fin but Ben was doing it with foam and flow.

The outline blends the hold of a pin tail with a subtle flare through the hips, giving it extra drive and a clean release off the tail. It’s smooth under pressure and electric when you let it loose.
